How did you get into Sales?
- One of my previous managers told me that I have it in me and I should give it a shot — I tried and discovered a side of myself that I never knew.
What are you known for — What's "such a Marcus thing"..?
- Know your priorities, get them right.
Any favorite Marcus sayings or mantras?
- Everything happens for a reason — when a door closes, another opens.
Married/Kids?
- Happily married to my first love, whom I have been in a relationship with since age 17… and learning to be a good dad to our two active boys with contrasting personalities.
Sports/Hobbies?
- Working out in the gym to keep fit and stay healthy. When I want to indulge, I enjoy being in my "Nothing Box."

- Favorite Book: "Sell with a Story" by Paul Smith

Favorite Zimbra customer story?
- Taking 3 years to become the trusted advisor of a CIO in an Indonesia conglomerate, and in the process, convincing him along with his management team that Zimbra offers the value proposition that is a great fit for his organization. It's about believing in what you are doing, doing it right and persevering til the very end.
What are you most excited about Zimbra going forward?
- Embracing our open source core and engaging our partner community so that we can be a force to reckon with in the enterprise messaging market.
Personal favorite Zimbra feature?
- Extensibility through Zimlets (which I feel is the most underrated feature in our product), which transforms Zimbra into a coherent platform that provides fast and affordable access to what customers want, when they want it and where they want it.
