Exciting news! We are proud to introduce our new CEO, Marc Zionts.

Marc has an impressive career running technology companies both in the U.S. and worldwide. Most recently, he served as Executive Chairman of Precision Nutrition and previously served as CEO of Automated Insights, Numerex, Aicent, Ortiva Wireless, Dialogic and Westell Technologies. “I‘ve been in communications, enterprise software solutions and messaging solutions for decades.”

A devoted father and husband, competitive athlete and collaborative leader, Marc’s worldview is shaped by what can be achieved when teams come together in pursuit of shared goals and accomplishments. We know he is a perfect fit for Zimbra culture and a valuable addition to the community.

What’s Marc’s approach for Zimbra as a global brand?

"We serve a vital purpose to the industry by being a great alternative to the giants. We all live on and rely on our communications and collaboration software tools. People want alternatives to the two oligopolies in the marketplace. That being said, it’s important that people are buying Zimbra because they think that Zimbra is the best product. So that means really understanding, do we have the right roadmap? Are we thinking about the market in the right way? What are our opportunities for growth?"

Marc has substantial experience serving service provider and enterprise customers, including via robust channel programs. As we set our sights on 2022, Marc and the team are staged to take Synacor and Zimbra to the next level on customer support, innovation and product development.

More about Marc... Marc’s a competitive cyclist, on the board of Friends of the Earth, a lifelong learner, an avid nonfiction reader, and loves watching F1 Grand Prix racing (and looks forward to visiting our Singapore office where there’s a view of the F1 track!), and he’s a firm believer in candor and transparency.

What key words describe your working style?
Candor, transparency, openness, collaboration. Leadership by example, that’s a big one for me.

What’s life like outside of work?
My wife of 31 years (and our 2 dogs and cat) split our time between Chapel Hill and the mountains of North Carolina. We are very proud of our 4 adult children for being kind people and admire how they have chosen unique careers that they are passionate about. On the weekends, I’m always outside and typically on my bike 4-5 hours a day. I never miss a workout.
