Zimbra Collaboration Patch Releases

Last week, Zimbra issued patch releases for Zimbra Collaboration 8.x and 7.x, resolving two critical security vulnerabilities. We strongly recommend that any customer running the following versions of Zimbra Collaboration apply the patches:

8.0.5, 8.0.4, 8.0.3
7.2.5, 7.2.4, 7.2.3, 7.2.2

These issues are being tracked in our Bugzilla systems as the following:

Bug # 80338
Summary: Privilege Escalation via LFI
Affected Versions: 7.2.2 and 8.0.2 and all previous releases

Bug # 84547
Summary: Critical Security Vulnerability
Affected Versions: 7.2.5 and 8.0.5 and all previous releases

Please follow the release notes for installation instructions. Each patch release is a cumulative update, including any fixes from previous patch releases for that version.

Now Available – Zimbra 8 Training Courses

We are pleased to announce the availability of two Zimbra 8.x training courses:

Zimbra Collaboration System Administration

This is a three-day in-depth session that covers everything you need to know about installing, managing, and maintaining your Zimbra Collaboration deployment. This hands-on course covers basic administration, plus the advanced administration functions and configuration of a multi-node Zimbra Collaboration architecture. Click here for a course description.

Zimbra Web Client for Helpdesk Agents

This three-hour session is designed to teach Tier 1 Helpdesk Agents how to use the Zimbra Web Client (ZWC) from the perspective of the Zimbra end-user. While learning how to use ZWC, Helpdesk Agents will also learn common problems encountered by Zimbra end-users and how to resolve those problems. Click here for a course description.

The Messaging, Malware and Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group is driven by market needs and the insight of its global membership. With member companies from Asia, Europe, North America and South America, the organization is currently working on a variety of initiatives addressing ongoing and emerging messaging abuse issues, including bot mitigation, cooperative industry outreach, Web messaging abuse, DNS abuse, wireless messaging, senders issues, and other topics.
